Toy Shop

This is a child's bedside lamp ( which now belongs to my great nephew Danny).
The toys are removable and consist of a rocking horse (which rocks) a tricycle, train, teddy etc.
I had intended to change the toys as the child grew up!
Nan and Toodie's House
This is a copy of part of a model I made of my Nan's house. Toodie was my nan's sister who was blind .The original model is of the whole house, backyard with outside toilet.(photo soon!)
The house was quite ugly and infested with cockroaches but had a lot of happy memories for me . It was in Talbot Street, Liverpool 6 and was demolished many years ago.
Talbot Street ran between Brunswick Road and Low Hill. 22 was an end terraced house (one of six) on the corner of Erskin Street.
The front window had been bricked up because of the window tax . The toilet was outside in the back yard. There was a cellar which had a coal chute which opened below the railings at the front of the house. My Nan's family ( before I was born!) would sleep in the cellar during W.W.2 air raids. (gas masks were down there ready!)

Florida
This was originally only going to be a small wall plaque but because I enjoyed making it so much and the old lady I was making it for was so nice I decided to make it into a lamp at no extra cost.
I worked from a photo as the house, in Mill Lane, Burscough had been demolished.
It was named Florida as the owner had been there and really liked it.
I made a small statue for the front garden from a description, as it was not in the photo and I wrote the history of the house on the back.
Sadly the old lady died not long after I had completed it and it was passed on to a relative.

The photo shows the house before the first firing.
